Our bar was coined ‘George’s‘ to pay homage to George Lonz, aka ‘The Wine King’. George purchased the winery in 1926 and he and his wife, Fannie, moved into the mansion that same year. The property became the social hub of activity especially after Prohibition ended and the Lonz Winery flourished. George ran the winery up to his death in 1969.
